I was quite disappointed with the service offered by Janet at Bruin Trojan Realtors Inc. Never have I felt so alone in this process with such a lack of communication through out. I bought a land lot with cash and all they had to do was walk me through the contract and escrow process. I had to consistantly reach out to her, through texts, emails and calls only to get comments like I get so many texts and emails a day, so call me, and then get assistants or other agents calling me back who couldn't answer my questions. Usually I had to reach out 2-3 times before getting a response. Several times, I had to make sure about deadlines and get answers where she didn't know where we were in the process or what things were done. I was often passed onto the escrow company until I demanded that I have her talk to me and go through contracts since she is supposed to be my agent that represents my interests. I had to request for an extension of the due date of escrow because I hadn't receievd paperwork. Apparently there was issues with escrow and the sellers agent but none of this was relayed to me until I had prompted attention to it. It definitely felt like I had to move everything forward and persist with the questions and pay attention to contract deadlines myself. At no point did I feel like I got any kind of agent attention or was even on her radar. From early March to early May, we actually spoke on the phone culmulitively for 3 hours at best and everytime she didn't know what was happening, thought it had already happened, or didn't know why it wasn't happening. One time I got paperwork to sign to close everything and hadn't even gotten everything requested yet. When I asked her about it, she didn't even know her office had sent it. Anyway, I can't recount everything. This should have been a very easy process being a land deal paid with cash, but it was quite a stressful process and even more so since I am buying from another state. I have agent friends in my state that were appalled by the behavior. Would not recommend at all.
Janet is a fixture and best kept secret of Big Bear. I’ve had the opportunity to work with her in finding a last minute rental in an incredibly competitive rental market, dominated by two companies with less than stellar reputations amongst locals. Janet is knowledgeable, accessible and easy to work with. I am looking forward to working with her to buy my first income property here in Big Bear. I highly recommend Janet Stevens for any real estate need.
The experience we had with this agency as far as communication, selling and escrow procedure was the worse ever. Real estate agent and escrow company are same. Agent was the worst than any agents that we dealt with and we have sold few properties.
